Best NHL player prop bet for Tuesday, 1/31

The first glance of tonight's 3-game slate, the thought would be to target a Capitals skater against the Blue Jackets. However, injuries have been an issue for them all season and they've been extremely conservative this last week heading into the All-Star break. If you're still wanting a play in that game, we'd target Evgeny Kuznetsov to have an assist. Rather than forcing that play, we've found an even stronger spot up in Canada.'

Along with our player props, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today's action.

Tim Stutzle over 0.5 assists (-110)

The Ottawa Senators are heading over to Montreal to take on the Canadiens after having just defeated them on home ice. The more accurate way to phrase that would be that they crushed the Canadiens in Ottawa. It was a 5-0 win, which came just 1 game after their impressive 6-2 road win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. In other words, the Sens offense is hitting their stride to snag as many points as possible before the All-Star break. The most interesting part of that win over Montreal was that Brady Tkachuk, the team's leading point-scorer, didn't record a single point.'

While we expect a big night from him, his prices are always very expensive. Therefore, we're targeting his linemate in Tim Stutzle. The 21 year-old is truly emerging this season with 45 points in 45 games. Of course skating alongside Tkachuk helps, and that's why we're focused on his assist prop. Tkachuk's 205 shots are the 6th-most in the NHL and it's Stutzle who is the one feeding him. The 2 should link up to find the back of the net against a Canadiens team that has allowed the 5th-most goals per game this season. Remember, they just scored 5 on them in their most recent game. We're expecting a similar result with Stutzle getting involved in the box score.
