NBA Player Props Predictions 1: Ben Simmons, Nets 7.5 Rebounds (+100) DK
Brooklyn Nets point guard Ben Simmons is averaging 10.1 rebounds on 15.1 rebound chances per game during the 2023-24 campaign.
Simmons has only played 9 games thus far but has recorded 8+ rebounds in EVERY game including double digit rebounds in five of those games.
That streak includes a game against tonight’s opponent the Cleveland Cavaliers where Simmons collected 10 boards. Jarrett Allen was out for that game and he’s obviously a force on the glass, but we only need 8 tonight.
Cam Johnson is also out for the Nets tonight and we will see Simmons start at point guard. Simmons is on a minute’s restriction, but his minutes are on the rise, and he only played 23 minutes in the prior head-to-head game where he landed on 10.
The spread is only 6 so we should avoid a blowout that could impact Simmons minutes late in the game. Look for Simmons to make it a perfect 10-10 on this rebounding number for the season.
NBA Player Props Predictions 2: Austin Reeves, Lakers 14.5 Points (-140) DK
Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Austin Reeves has averaged 15.5 points per game on 48.6% shooting from the field while clearing this mark in 31 of 52 games for a 60% success rate on the season.
Reeves has been even better recently as he’s scored 15+ points in 3 of his last 4 games and 5 of his last 7 games.
There are plenty of trade rumors swirling around Lakers starting point guard D’Angelo Russell and if he’s moved Reeves would be in line for a boatload of extra scoring opportunities.
On top of that, Lebron James and Anthony Davis are both questionable as this game is the first of a back-to-back.
Reeves line was set at 16.5 in his last game against the Charlotte Hornets and while he only scored 9 the Lakers were at full strength which may not be the case tonight.
Reeves has a great shot of clearing this line if the Lakers are at full strength and I fully expect Russell to be moved this afternoon.
