I searched high and low for a way to find some value on Justin Verlander against the Orioles, and I think I finally found it. Despite his injury, Justin Verlander has re-established himself as the frontrunner for the AL Cy Young award and in his first start back from the IL he tossed 6.0 scoreless innings against Oakland. In fact, Verlander hasn’t allowed an earned run in any of his last three starts, one of which was a 3.0 inning effort against Baltimore (he left the start early with his injury). If Verlander can go the 5.0 innings, I think we’ll be fine and I really like the value here against an Orioles team that is running out of gas.
