Baylor at BYU – 9/10/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The Baylor Bears and BYU Cougars face off on Saturday in a Week 2 college football showdown at LaVell Edwards Stadium.

The BYU Cougars have high expectations for the season and they looked good in the first game of the season against South Florida. The Cougars put up 50 points against the Bulls and secured the 50-21 victory. Under center for BYU is Jaren Hall and he completed 25 of his 32 passes for 262 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Running back Christopher Brown Jr had a big game rushing 13 times for 135 yards and a touchdown. It was a balanced attack out wide with seven different players catching at least two passes. Chase Roberts caught three passes for 41 yards.

On the other side of this matchup is Baylor and they opened up their season with a 69-10 victory over Albany. At the end of the first quarter, Baylor was up 21-7 and they only improved from there as they won in blowout fashion. Quarterback Blake Shapen had a new perfect game completing 17 of his 20 passes for 214 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Richard Reese also made the most of his opportunities rushing nine times for 62 yards and two touchdowns. The defense looked good in the first game, but going on the road, they are going to need to be even better. Baylor’s offense is strong, but they need the defense to be good here.
