Baltimore bounced back from blowing a big lead to down the Royals in the rubber game of a set on the road, earning their 13th win in the last 16 games in the process. The Orioles entered Friday second in the AL East with a 21-10 mark, leaving them 4.5 games behind the Rays for the top spot. On Thursday, Baltimore led 8-1 after two and half innings only to trail 9-8 after seven before rallying for the win. The Orioles got two hits each from Ramon Urias (four RBI), Adam Frazier (four runs) and Anthony Santander (run, two RBI) in the win. Santander (his third) and Gunnar Henderson (his third) each homered in the contest. Greyson Rodriguez didn’t factor in the decision as he threw 3.2 innings, allowing six runs on eight hits with one walk and three strikeouts. Yennier Cano (1-0) earned the win as he threw two scoreless innings, allowing one hit with no walks and three strikeouts.

Kyle Bradish is on the mound as he makes his fifth start of the season for the Orioles in this contest. He comes in 1-1 with a 6.14 ERA, a 1.841 WHIP, seven walks and 14 strikeouts over 14.2 innings of work on the season. Bradish didn’t factor in the decision in his last start, which came on the road against the Tigers last Saturday. He threw 4.2 innings, allowing three runs on six hits with one walk and five strikeouts in an eventual 5-3 Baltimore victory. Over his last three starts, Bradish is 1-1 with a 6.92 ERA, a 1.92 WHIP, six walks and 12 strikeouts over 13 innings of work. In his 28th career major league start, Bradish pitches against the Tigers for the first time here. As a result, that makes this his first career start at Truist Park as well.
