Auburn at Alabama – 3/1/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Auburn Tigers will head up to Tuscaloosa to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide from the Coleman Coliseum on ESPN2. Auburn leads the Iron Bowl series, 95-67, but Alabama won the latest matchup two weeks ago.

Auburn dropped to 19-10 after losing to Kentucky in Lexington. The Tigers trailed the Wildcats by double figures at the break, and they’d fall even further behind en route to a 32-point loss, 86-54. Auburn is scoring 72.1 points per game, while allowing 65.9 ppg, and shooting 43.7% from the floor.

Auburn has gone cold at the wrong time, and after dropping five of their last seven games, these next two games versus Bama and Tennessee will be make or break. The Tigers are 9-7 in SEC play, with a 4-7 road record. Auburn is led by the inside-outside pairing of Wendell Green Jr. and Johni Broome. Green went for a team-high 24 points in the first meeting with Alabama, and he’s averaging 13.8 ppg and 4.2 apg. Broome has scored 19 points or more in three of the last four games, and he now leads Auburn in scoring (14.1) and rebounding (8.6). Three-year starter Jaylin Williams (11.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg) joins him up front.
