Wednesday Betting Recaps

Welcome to our daily recap of the sports betting action from the day before as dogs continued to bark in MLB at 9-7 (18-12 the last 2 days).

The Vegas Golden Knights pulled a minor upset in Game 1 of their NHL Western Conference semifinal series vs. the Oilers, but the chalk won easily in the other NHL game – Hurricanes in their Game 1 win vs. the Devils – and the lone NBA playoff game with the Celtics routing the 76ers to even their series.

Without further ado, let’s get to the details in our sport-by-sport recaps as well as updating the side and total records in each sport.

NBA: Celtics routed 76ers 121-87 to even their Eastern Conference semifinal series at 1-1. The ViewFromVegas is they easily covered as 7.5-point home favorites (stayed Under betting total of 215.5 points). Faves are 4-3 SU so far in second round, but dogs still lead 4-3 ATS. Home teams took 4-3 SU lead, but road teams still lead 4-3 ATS. Overs still lead 4-3.

More NBA: Faves lead 32-18 SU and 27-23 ATS (54%) overall. Home teams lead 30-20 SU and 27-22-1 ATS (55.1%). Over/Unders are back to .500 at 25-25. Celtics were in the “zig-zag” (aka “loser of the last”) role after losing Game 1, and covered, so zig-zag improved to 1-2 ATS this round and 20-17-1 ATS (54.1%) overall.

NHL: Golden Knights (+105 home dogs) upset Oilers 6-4 late Wednesday in Game 1 of their second-round series (flew Over betting total of 6.5 goals). Earlier, Hurricanes (-115 home faves) beat Devils 5-1 (Over 5.5). Dogs lead 3-1 in this round. Home/road teams have split 2-2 while Overs lead 3-1. Overall in the playoffs, dogs lead 29-23 with 2 PKs. Road teams still lead 33-21. Overs improved to 29-25.
