Saturday Betting Recaps

Favorites and underdogs mostly split the sports betting action on Saturday with the Golden Knights beating the Panthers as short -116 road favorites (after opening as underdogs), while faves/dogs split 1-1 SU and ATS in the USFL and dogs held a slim 8-7 edge in the day’s MLB action.

Let’s get to the specific details with our daily betting recaps, and then update the spread and total records in each current major team sport (including the idle NBA that doesn’t resume with the Finals until Monday night in Denver).

NHL: Golden Knights held off the Panthers 3-2 on Saturday night to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the Stanley Cup Finals after closing as -116 road favorites (stayed Under betting total of 5.5 goals). Road/fave/Under went 1-0 on the night, and so did the “zig-zag” (aka “loser of the last”) as VGK lost the previous game.

More NHL: Faves lead 4-0 this round, but dogs still lead 43-40 in the playoffs with 4 games closing pick-’em. Home teams dipped to 3-1 this round, but road teams improved to 47-40. Over/Unders dipped to 2-2 this round and 43-43-1 overall. The “zig-zag” improved to 2-1 in this round and 41-31 overall.
