Atlanta will try to snap a two-game losing streak when it travels to the nation’s capital for the first of two meetings with the Wizards. The Hawks have lost three of their last four games and have fallen below the .500 mark for the first time in three weeks. Washington is coming off a buzzer-beating win at Detroit on Tuesday, pulling closer to Atlanta in the Eastern Conference standings.
Atlanta is looking to get back to the .500 mark overall this season after losing back-to-back games at Miami. The Hawks have lost five of their last eight games, falling to 32-33 on the season. They are now getting set for another set of games against one team, as they will play Washington again on Friday night. Atlanta has never been able to generate any real momentum this season, sitting around the .500 mark for the entire campaign. The Hawks have not been more than four games above the break-even point and have not been more than two games below that mark.

They are in eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings, sitting 2.5 games behind Miami in the standings. There is not much wiggle room behind them, as they are a half-game ahead of Toronto and 1.5 games ahead of Washington. Atlanta has relied on its offense to win games throughout the season, ranked sixth in the league in points per game (117.1). Star guard Trae Young leads the way with 26.6 points and 10.1 assists per game, while Dejounte Murray is adding 21.0 points and 5.4 rebounds. Forward De’Andre Hunter is adding 15.6 points and 4.3 rebounds. They are facing a Washington defense that is No. 15, allowing 113.3 points per game.
