Atlanta Hawks vs. Milwaukee Bucks Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-14-2022

Atlanta Hawks (8-5) vs. Milwaukee Bucks (10-2)

The 2022-23 NBA season goes on Monday, November 14, with the Eastern Conference showdown at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks lock horns for the third time this season after splitting their previous two encounters, so let’s take a closer look.

Atlanta is still missing Bogdan Bogdanovic, who’s recovering from knee surgery, while Onyeka Okongwu is doubtful to play due to personal reasons. On the other side, the Bucks are without Khris Middleton (wrist), Joe Ingles (knee), and Pat Connaughton (calf), while Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee), Jrue Holiday (ankle), and Grayson Allen (illness) are all questionable to play Monday.

The Atlanta Hawks dropped to 8-5 straight up and 6-6-1 ATS on the season following a 121-109 defeat at the Philadelphia 76ers this past Saturday. Two days after beating the Sixers 104-95 as 1-point home favorites, the Hawks failed to cover a 3-point spread at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Trae Young led the way for Atlanta once more, finishing with 27 points and 11 assists, while Dejounte Murray added 23 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.

“We never established defense,” Hawks head coach Nate McMillan said. “The first three quarters, they came out and put up 37 points, then 30 and 32. … We did continue to fight, but we had 19 turnovers and when you give up a ton of points, you are not going to win that game.”

The Hawks’ defense ranks tenth in the NBA in points allowed per 100 possessions (110.8), eighth in field goal percentage (45.4%), and second in 3-point percentage (32.8%). On the other side of the ball, Atlanta is tallying 112.3 points per 100 possessions (16th in the NBA) on 46.6% shooting from the field (19th) and 32.9% from beyond the 3-point line (24th). The Hawks take just 28.3 attempts from deep per 100 possessions, enough for the second-fewest in the league.
