The 2022-23 NBA season goes on with an 11-game Friday slate including the cross-conference showdown between the Atlanta Hawks and Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, with the tip-off at 10:30 PM ET.
Atlanta and Los Angeles wrap up their two-game regular-season set, and the Lakers beat the Hawks 130-121 as 6-point road underdogs this past Friday. Los Angeles misses Anthony Davis (foot) and Lonnie Walker IV (knee), while LeBron James (non-COVID illness) and Troy Brown Jr. (quadriceps) are questionable to play. On the other side, Atlanta is without Clint Capela (calf).
The Atlanta Hawks improved to 18-20 SU and 15-22-1 ATS on the season following Wednesday’s 120-117 victory at the Sacramento Kings. The Hawks held the Kings scoreless in the final 1:16 of the fourth quarter to put an end to their four-game losing streak. Atlanta made 53.6% of its field goals (10-for-30 from deep) and notched 18 fast-break points while posting an underwhelming 21/16 assist-to-turnover ratio.
John Collins led the way for the Hawks last Wednesday, tallying a line of 22 points, 12 rebounds, and a couple of steals and blocks. De’Andre Hunter had 22 points and eight rebounds, while Trae Young and Dejounte Murray accounted for 21 points apiece.
“Feels great,” Hawks coach Nate McMillan said. “That’s what we have been talking about. We have to close out games and make plays down the stretch.”

The Hawks struggle to execute their offense at a high level. The Hawks allow 113.6 points per 100 possessions (16th) on 47.4% shooting from the field (20th) and rank 29th in the league in opposing rebounds per 100 possessions (45.5).
