Atlanta will try to snap a two-game losing streak when it travels to Charlotte on Friday night. The Hawks have lost five of their last six games, falling to Orlando in a 135-124 final on Wednesday. Charlotte is riding a six-game losing skid after dropping a 141-134 decision in overtime against Detroit its last time out.

Atlanta won seven of its first 10 games to open the season, but the Hawks have been unable to maintain that form over the past month. They have lost 12 of their last 19 games and have dropped five of their last six coming into this matchup. Their recent rough stretch includes losses in each of their last two games, falling to Memphis in a 128-103 blowout on Monday before losing to Orlando in a 135-124 final on Wednesday. Guard Trae Young was able to return from an injury, scoring 19 points on 6 of 15 shooting in 39 minutes. Young has scored at least 18 points in 18 consecutive games, and he also set a season high with 16 assists.

Young has three double-doubles in his last five games, averaging 22.6 points, 11.0 assists and 2.4 rebounds during that stretch. De’Andre Hunter was the team’s leading scorer in the loss to Orlando, pouring in a team-high 25 points and grabbing six rebounds. Hunter has averaged 20.0 points in his three games since returning from a hip strain. The Hawks will need Hunter’s production moving forward, as center Clint Capela is going to miss at least a week with a right calf strain. He left Wednesday’s game with the injury and will leave a void going forward, as he is the NBA’s third-leading rebounder. Atlanta is No. 15 in the NBA in scoring (113.5) and will be facing a Charlotte defense that is No. 27 (117.1).
