The Atlanta Hawks have had a tumultuous season that has included a new backcourt, a head coaching firing, and the now uncertain future of their star player. All that took a backseat, however, to the Hawks' play-in game at Miami on Tuesday night. The Hawks' backcourt set the pace as Trae Young scored 25 points and Dejounte Murray chipped in with 18 points as the Hawks earned the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs with the win. Clint Capela, who spent a large portion of the season battling injuries, grabbed 21 points to help the Hawks dominate the interior in the win.

“Our guys are trying to be the best version of ourselves at the end of the year,” Snyder said. “The year's not over. So hopefully we can take this and continue to build on it. It's one game — but it was our game.”

The Hawks now meet up with Boston in the first round of the playoffs. Atlanta went 0-3 against the Celtics this season although the final game was played largely with substitutes on both sides in the final game of the regular season. Overall, the Hawks averaged 113.3 points per game vs. Boston this season in the three games. The Hawks shot 45.6% from the floor overall and just 26.7% from 3pt range, making an average of just over nine per contest. The Hawks also turned the ball over just nine times per game against Boston this season. Young led Hawks scorers with 31 points per game while Murray chipped in with just over 16 points per game.
