The Atlanta Hawks and the Dallas Mavericks collide at the American Airlines Center on Wednesday night.
The Atlanta Hawks have been in pretty good form as they’ve won five of their last seven games overall and they will be gunning for a fourth straight victory after beating the Heat in a 121-113 win on Monday. Dejounte Murray led the team with 28 points and seven assists, Trae Young added 24 points with eight assists and four steals while DeAndre Hunter chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Hawks shot a healthy 59 percent from the field and 13 of 27 from the 3-point line as they got off to a hot start and set the tone with 38 points in the first quarter to lead by as many as 26 points which proved to be just enough in the end as the Heat got to within four points in the final seconds of the game.
Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks have been in a rut as they’ve lost four of their last five games overall and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after getting routed by the Trail Blazers in a 140-123 road loss on Sunday. Spencer Dinwiddie led the team with 28 points and nine assists, Christian Wood added 23 points with 16 rebounds while Jaden Hardy chipped in with 25 points on eight of 17 shooting off the bench. As a team, the Mavericks shot 46 percent from the field and 14 of 42 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Trail Blazers for most of the game, until the fourth quarter where they allowed 42 points to get blown out in the end.
