The pitching matchup on Monday night will feature Braves' lefty Max Fried (0-0, 2.70) of the Braves taking on the Padres' Ryan Weathers (1-0, 2.70). The opening pitch is scheduled for 9:40 PM EST.

The Atlanta Braves once again look like the class of the NL East through the first few weeks of the season. Despite several injuries, including to starters Max Fried and Kyle Wright, the Braves have reeled off five straight wins heading into Sunday's finale against the Royals. The Braves' offense has been the story during the most recent hot streak, scoring 36 runs during the team's five-game win streak. On Sunday, the Braves completed the sweep of the Royals 5-4 in KC. Ozzie Albies homered and Vaughn Grissom knocked in the go-ahead run in the 9th with an RBI single to give the Braves their sixth straight win.

The Braves will turn to lefty Max Fried on Monday in San Diego. Fried returns off the IL after suffering a hamstring injury in his first start of the season. Last year, on the road, Fried was 6-3 with a 2.55 ERA in 12 starts. Fried gave up 61 hits in 77.2 innings pitched on the road while walking just seven and striking out 72 batters. Fried made just one start against the Padres last year, allowing nine hits and four runs in six innings in a no-decision.

Key Injuries: SS Orlando Arcia, C Travis d'Arnaud and CF Michael Harris are all out.
