Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 9-24-2022

Two NL East foes meet Saturday as the Philadelphia Phillies host the Atlanta Braves in the third game of a four game series. The Braves are chasing the Mets for first place in the division while the Phillies are looking to lock up a wildcard spot in the National League.

The Atlanta Braves have been chasing the NY Mets pretty much all season an they are within striking distance. Because of the way the playoffs are structured this year, first place matters because it means the Braves would be a top two seed in the NL and would get a first round bye. If they don't catch the Mets, they would occupy the first wildcard spot.

Kyle Wright gets the start for the Braves on Saturday. The right hander has a chance to win his 20th game of the season, as he is 19-5 on the year with a 3.18 ERA in 28 starts. He has 165 strikeouts and 50 walks in 170 innings. He leads all of baseball in wins and appears to be a lock for the NL Cy Young. The Braves have a team ERA of 3.43, which is 5th in the league. The bullpen has an ERA of 3.11, which is 5th in the majors.
