Army vs. Temple Prediction, Tonight, 9-26: Week 5 Picks & Odds
Army vs. Temple Prediction, Tonight, 9-26: Week 5 Picks & Oddsiv class=”bodyContent col-lg-9 mb-3″>

Army is a double-digit road favorite against a lowly Temple program that could struggle to stop the run.

  • In my Army vs. Temple prediction, I expect the Knight to run wild with Kanye Udoh
  • Since we made our Army vs. Temple early picks, little has changed with Army still favored by 12-plus points
  • Temple is considered one of the worst Group of Five teams, even after winning its first game last week

This is the first game on the slate that's part of our Week 5 college football predictions.

Army vs. Temple odds movement

Army opened as a 13.5-point favorite at our college football betting sites. The line has since dropped down to -12, rewarding Army bettors who waited.

The Knights have 67% of the money on them covering, with just 33% on Temple. The Over has 61% of the money, with the total hovering around 4 6.5.

Army vs. Temple against the spread prediction: Week 5

Army vs. Temple opening odds:

  • Army: -13.5 (-110 via DraftKings)
  • Temple: +13.5 (-110 via DraftKings)

Earlier this week, FanDuel offered bettors a chance to get in on the Black Knights at -12.5. With 66% of wagers backing Army to cover, the spread has grown to 13.5 at all of our best sports betting sites except for DraftKings.

DraftKings is offering -13, and though the price is -112 rather than -110, the minor price difference is worth it for the chance to push.

The Black Knights are averaging an astounding 346.5 rushing yards per game. That's the most in college football, and they're one of only three teams to average more than 300 yards per game. One of those three teams, the Navy Midshipmen, played the Owls earlier this season and ran for 297 yards in a 38-11 win.

The Owls are allowing 221.3 rushing yards per game, ranked 112th in the nation. Though some could argue they have an advantage in this game because they already played Navy, they were so unsuccessful against the Midshipmen that it's hard to imagine they can make the changes to stop the Black Knights.

Army is going to use so much clock in this game, so it's fair to worry that it won't cover this large spread, especially on the road.

However, the Owls have scored 20 or fewer points in three of their four games. Meanwhile, the Black Knights may score on every possession in this game, and as long as they get to 28 – which they've done in two of their three games – they'll cover.

Army vs. Temple prop pick for Week 5

Our NEW college football player prop odds tool can help you find the best odds on any market across legal sportsbooks in your area!

It's no surprise that I think the best play of the game is taking one of the Black Knights' runners to hit their Over.

Bryson Daily leads the Black Knights with 58 carries and 340 rushing yards this season. He's cleared the 100-yard threshold in back-to-back games, but I don't love having to take him Over 100 in this game, just because the backfield is so talented.

Instead, I'm back Udoh. Between himself, Daily, and Noah Short, Udoh has been the least effective runner this season. He's averaging 4.6 yards per carry, which is 8.7 yards worse than Short, but he has received 37 carries compared to Short's 20. He's gone Over 70 yards in two of his three games, but because of his lackluster performance last week, we're getting this at a great number.

The best price is being offered at FanDuel. DraftKings is asking -140 for Over 60 yards, and BetMGM is asking -101 for 60.5 yards.

Best odds: -114 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 53.27%
