The Arkansas State Red Wolves and Ohio State Buckeyes face off on Saturday in a Week 2 college football showdown at Ohio Stadium.
Arkansas State looked good in their first game of the season against Grambling State, but that was mostly expected. Arkansas State scored 58 points including 30 points in the 1st half, and that was enough to secure the win. Under center for Arkansas State is James Blackman and he completed 15 of his 20 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Johnnie Lang also had a big game rushing 13 times for 124 yards and two touchdowns. The top wide receiver was Champ Flemings who caught seven passes for 122 yards and a touchdown. The defense looked really good in the first game but this is a much bigger test, and the defense will need to be even better here.
On the other side of this matchup is Ohio State who were able to beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the first game, but they have a ton of things that need to be cleaned up. The defense was strong giving up only 10 points, and that led to the 21-10 victory. Under center for the Buckeyes is CJ Stroud and he completed 24 of his 34 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Treyvon Henderson had a big game rushing 15 times for 91 yards. Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njiba is dealing with a hamstring injury and it’s unclear if he’s going to be able to go in this game.
