Arkansas Razorbacks – 2022 College Football Season Preview & Wins Total Prediction

The Arkansas Razorbacks finished the 2021 college football season 9-4 overall and 4-4 in SEC play. This season odds makers have given Arkansas a wins total prediction of 6.5. Arkansas was competitive in three of its four losses with exception of a blowout loss to Auburn in 2021. Last season Arkansas' offense played well under coordinator Kendal Briles and expect the same again this season.

The running attack will once again be the strength at Arkansas. Arkansas led the SEC in rushing last year. KJ Jefferson returns after last season rushing for 664 yards and six touchdowns as the quarterback. Jefferson also completed 67% of his passes and connected for 21 touchdowns with four interceptions. The offensive line will be one of the best in the SEC, led by guard Brady Latham and center Ricky Stromberg.

Dominique Johnson and Raheim Sanders are the two top running backs returning from last season. Arkansas lost receiver Treylon Burks, who is now playing for the Tennessee Titans but gained Jadon Haselwood in the transfer portal from Oklahoma. Arkansas has speed at wideout and will stretch the opposing defensive back fields, which could even make the Razorbacks' running game better.

Arkansas lacked in defensive pass rush last season and must improve if the Razorbacks hope to compete for the SEC West title. Last season the defense gave up 400 total yards just four times while allowing that number eight times in 2020. Zack Williams returns as the top quarterback sacker, while three other defensive lineman returned with experience.

Linebacker Bumper Pool should be one of the best linebackers in the SEC and will be joined by transfer Drew Sanders, who left Alabama to play for the Razorbacks. Arkansas loves to use defensive backs and at times we use as many as six. Last season the secondary had 13 interceptions and this season will be led by Jalen Catalon. Latavious Brini joins Arkansas via the transfer portal from Georgia and another transfer Dwight McGlothern will take one of the corner spots after arriving from LSU.'
