UCLA advanced by dismantling fourth-seeded Oregon 75-56, easily covering the line as a five-point favorite, in their semifinal matchup Friday night in their previous contest. In the all-time series between the teams, the Bruins own a 61-45 advantage. This season, the teams split two meetings with Arizona winning 58-52 at home January 21 before UCLA rebounded with an 82-73 triumph at home in the most recent contest last Saturday.

Arizona won the rubber game of their season series with in-state rival Arizona State as they pulled away down the stretch to advance to the title game. The Wildcats bolstered their record to 27-6 overall and they were 14-6 in conference play during the regular season. Against Arizona State, Arizona worked the ball inside early and often to take a seven-point lead at the half. The Wildcats opened an 11-point lead with 11:05 remaining but went scoreless for the next four-plus minutes to allow the Sun Devils to get within four. Arizona regrouped again, going on a 12-2 run that put them up 68-54 with 4:25 remaining and went on to the win. The Wildcats shot 56.4% from the field, including 10 of 19 from three-point range, and dominated the boards 45-29 to offset a six of 14 night at the free throw line. Azuolas Tubelis led the Wildcats with 17 points and nine rebounds in the win.

The Wildcats average 83.5 points per game this season, putting them 4th in the nation in scoring offense. Arizona grabs 39.3 rebounds per contest (10th) while they are 2nd in the nation by handing out 19.3 assists per contest. The Wildcats have had issues on the defensive end of the floor as they are 244th in the nation by allowing 72.3 points a night. The Wildcats also rely on Pelle Larsson (10.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, three assists), Cedric Henderson Jr., Adama Bal, Henri Veesaar and Kylan Boswell to contribute in the rotation for Tommy Lloyd. Arizona shoots 49.7% from the field as a team this season, which is 5th in the nation. The Wildcats connect on 8.6 three-pointers a night wh ile shooting 38% from beyond the arc. Arizona has been average at the free throw line as they sink 71.6% of their chances this season.
