The Eastern Michigan Eagles (1-1) visit the Arizona State Sun Devils (1-1) at Sun Devil Stadium on Saturday, September 17, 2022.
In their last game, the Sun Devils lost 34-17 to the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The Eagles’ last game was a 49-21 loss to the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns. In that matchup with the Cowboys, Emory Jones had 223 yards on 12-of-23 passing (52.2%) for the Devils, with one touchdown and no interceptions. Xazavian Valladay ran for 118 yards on 21 carries (5.6 yards per carry) and one touchdown. Giovanni Sanders led the receiving charge against the Cowboys, catching three passes for 94 yards. Taylor Powell threw for 320 yards for the Eagles against the Ragin’ Cajuns, going 32-for-51 (62.7%) with one touchdown and three interceptions. Jaylon Jackson carried the ball six times for 43 yards (7.2 yards per attempt). In the passing game, he added two catches for 18 yards. Tanner Knue caught eight passes on 13 targets for 88 yards (11.0 yards per reception), and scored one touchdown.
The Sun Devils are favored (-20) in an expected lopsided game with the Eagles. The total is set at 55.5 points.
