Arizona State vs. Arizona Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 2-25-2023

With just three regular-season games remaining in the Pac-12 Conference, things are getting interesting as the season draws to a close. On Saturday afternoon, in-state rivals Arizona State and Arizona will battle it out with each team vying for different goals. Arizona State sits at 19-9 overall and 10-7 in the Pac-12. A win in this spot could increase the Sun Devils' likelihood of earning an NCAA Tournament invite. The Wildcats, meanwhile, at 24-4 and 13-4 in the conference, still have an outside shot at winning the Pac-12 regular season title. Game time is scheduled for 2:00 PM EST.

Arizona State is on the outside looking in at the moment according to ESPN's Bracketology. With 19 wins, the Sun Devils still have a shot but close the season with a very difficult schedule. The Sun Devils close with a three-game road trip against Arizona, UCLA, and USC. The Sun Devils are a combined 0-3 against the threesome this season. Last Saturday, in their final home regular season game, the Wildcats took down Utah by the score of 67-59. Arizona State trailed at halftime but finally took the lead with nearly two minutes to play and went on a 12-2 run to close the game. Warren Washington led the way with 18 points for the Sun Devils.

The Sun Devils will need to pick up at least one road win over the final three to increase their likelihood of earning a tournament spot. ASU fell to Arizona earlier this season by eight points on their home floor. Offensively. Arizona State is fifth in the Pac-12 in scoring offense but just 10th in field goal percentage and 11th in 3pt field goal percentage. The Sun Devils' are second in the conference in fewest turnovers per game. On the defensive end, ASU is fifth in scoring defense but first in opponent's field goal percentage. They are eighth in the conference in 3pt defense and third in total rebounding.
