The Arizona Coyotes and Boston Bruins face off on Saturday in an NHL showdown at the TD Garden. 

There aren’t a ton of expectations surrounding this Arizona Coyotes team, and the first game of the season was an ugly loss. Arizona’s defense really struggled giving up six goals and the offense could only manage two goals. At the end of the first period the Coyotes were down 3-0 and they never could bounce back. In goal was the Coyotes was Karel Vejmelka and he made saves on 47 of the 53 pitches he faced. The bright spot on the offense for the Coyotes was Nick Ritchie and he finished the game with two goals and three shots on goal. In this game, the Coyotes need the defense to be better. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Bruins and they opened up their season with a 5-2 victory over the Washington Capitals. At the end of the first period, the Bruins were up 2-0 and they never looked back as they cruised to the victory. David Pastrnak had a big game finishing with one goal and three assists. David Krejci also had a big game finishing with two assists and one goal. In goal for the Bruins was Linus Ullmark and he finished up saving 33 of the 35 shots that he faced.
