Having managed to win just one of their past eight outings, the Anaheim Ducks (8th in Pacific Division) will pay a visit to the Ottawa Senators (8th in Atlantic), who return home following a victory in Nashville.

The Anaheim Ducks (7-18-3) failed to record consecutive wins just for the second time this season after following up Tuesday’s 4-3 overtime triumph against the Carolina Hurricanes with a 6-1 fiasco versus the San Jose Sharks at Honda Center on Friday. Trevor Zegras (10 goals, 23 points this year) scored in the second period for the Ducks, who conceded one snipe in the opening frame, three more, including a power-play marker, in the middle session, further giving up two goals in a span of 25 seconds in the final third. It was Anaheim’s seventh defeat in the last eight outings (1-5-2) and 13th in its past 16 (3-11-2).

Goalie John Gibson (5-13-3 for the season with a 3.99 GAA and a .894 save percentage) conceded four strikes on 19 shots on Friday before leaving the game with an illness after the second period, with Antho ny Stolarz (2-5-0 on the year with a 4.02 GAA and a .886 save percentage) making seven saves in relief. Stolarz is 1-2-0 in previous encounters versus Ottawa with a 3.02 GAA and a .901 save percentage, while Gibson has gone 3-2-2 against the Senators historically with a 1.76 GAA and a .941 save percentage. The Ducks, meanwhile, are 3rd in least goals scored per game this season (2.43), top of the league in most goals allowed on average (4.21) and 2nd worst in both power play (15.0%) and penalty kill (66.7%).
