The Anaheim Ducks (6-15-2, 14 points, Last Pacific) pay a visit to Minneapolis on Saturday to play the Minnesota Wild (11-9-2, 24 points, 4th Central). Anaheim’s struggles continued as the Ducks have lost four straight after falling to the Dallas Stars 5-0 on Thursday night. Anaheim has lost seven of the last 8 and 10 of the past 12.  Minnesota won its second straight when defeating the Edmonton Oilers 5-3 on Thursday night. Kirill Kaprizov scored one goal and added a pair of assists for the Wild. Max Comtois, Jamie Drysdale, and John Moore are out, while John Klingberg is questionable for Anaheim. Jonas Brodin is doubtful for Saturday, while  Brandon Duhaime and Ryan Hartman are out and Filip Gustavsson is probable for Minnesota.

Anaheim is scoring an average of 2.38 goals per game which is next to last in hockey. The Ducks are averaging 30.1 shots per game which is 22nd. Only one other team in the NHL has a worse power-play than Anaheim, as the Ducks are scoring only 14.5% of the time with the man advantage. Troy Terry has scored 10 goals to lead Anaheim and Trevor Zegras has scored eight. Terry is the leader in assists with 14 and Zegras has 12. Therefore, Terry is the points leader with 24 and Zegras is second with 20. Anaheim has scored only 10 power play goals in 24 games.

 

As bad as Anaheim is in the attacking zone, the Ducks are even worse at their own end of the ice allowing an average of 4.17 goals per game which is last in the NHL. Opponents are averaging 37.3 shots per game against Anaheim which is also last and the Ducks have the worst penalty-kill unit in hockey, holding opponents scoreless only 65.5% of the time Anaheim is short-handed. John Gibson is 4-12-2 with a 3.99 goals-against average in .894 save percentage while backup  Anthony Stolarz is 2-4-0 with a 3.92 goals-against average and .892 save percentage. Anaheim has not posted a shutout this season
