The Anaheim Ducks face the Columbus Blue Jackets with both teams heading in opposite directions to start the season. The Blue Jackets have a 3-2 record and with back-to-back wins, they have leaped to the top of the Metropolitan Division. The Ducks look to rebound in the Western Conference while the Blue Jackets look to build on a hot start and the upcoming game should be a good one.

The Ducks are off to a rough start to the season with their offense struggling, scoring only 2.20 goals per game with only four goals in the last three games. Frank Vatrano, Mason McTavish, and Ryan Strome have scored six goals and seven assists but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only seven skaters have found the back of the net this season and opposing defenses can eliminate the hapless offense as a result.

The offense has struggled but the defense has also been a disappointment, allowing 3.00 goals per game. Cam Fowler and Jamie Drysdale have led the top pairing with nine blocked shots but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. The one bright spot has been the play of goaltender John Gibson who has a .907 save percentage and a 2.72 goals-against average on 86 shots.
