The Anaheim Ducks have gotten out of the gates slowly this season and head to Boston in the midst of a three-game losing streak. A quick trip through the greater New York era proved to be less than fruitful for the Ducks as they fell in consecutive games to the Islanders, Rangers and finally the Devils. In New Jersey, the Ducks jumped out to a 2-0 lead before New Jersey tied it with two goals in the second period. In the third period, New Jersey scored 33 seconds into the period and added an empty net goal for the 4-2 win. Anaheim was led by forward Jakob Silfverberg who scored both the team's first period goals to give the Ducks the lead. Goalie Anthony Stolarz turned away 20 of the 24 shots he faced.

“Obviously, it’s always fun to get on the scoresheet,” Silfverberg said after the team's 3rd straight loss. “It felt good after the first, but worse after the second and even worse after the third.”

In their three games on the road trip thus far, the Ducks are being outscored 17-7. They have allowed just 65 shots on goal in the three games despite the high goal output. As a team, they have just an .865 save percentage thus far this season. Goalie John Gibson will likely make his fourth start in five games on Thursday night. Thus far, he is 1-2 with a 5.96 goals against average. Right winger Troy Terry leads the Ducks with three goal and six points and is currently the only member of the team with a positive +/- at +1.
