The Akron Zips (9-6, 4-9 ATS, 5-8 O/U) clash with the Bowling Green Falcons (8-7, 6-7 ATS, 6-7 O/U) in a MAC battle on Tuesday night. The Zips were hit with a road loss against Ball State on Friday. The Falcons stayed hot by defeating Ohio in their previous action. Akron beat Bowling Green in both meetings last season.

The Akron Zips have one win and one loss in their opening two conference battles. They covered in a solid 76-51 home win against Northern Illinois in the MAC opener and were three-point dogs in a 70-63 road loss to Ball State on Friday. Akron had a four-game winning streak earlier this season which included a win against Wright State of the Horizon League. The Zips covered the spread in one of their last three games. 

Xavier Castaneda has missed the last few games with a hand injury and is listed as questionable. The senior guard is dangerous, sinking 19 or more points in four out of his last five games, and is averaging 19.5 PPG and 4.5 RPG. Enrique Freeman has scored a remarkable 50 points in his last two performances. The junior forward has recorded an average of 14.3 PPG along with 10.6 RPG.  Trendon Hankerson has scored double-digits in only one out of his last three bouts. The senior guard is third in team scoring with 9 PPG on 37% shooting. 

The Zips are ranked 126th in DI in Ken Pomeroy’s ratings and have yet to win on the road where they are 0-3 including a loss to Bradley. Akron is scoring an average of 69.4 points, ranking them 238th. The defense is solid. They have conceded 58 or fewer points in two of their last three games and are holding opponents to only 62.3 points, good for 34th in DI.
