Air Force Falcons (4-2) vs. UNLV Rebels (4-2)

Week 7 of the 2022 college football season brings a ton of conference play around the country including the Mountain West Conference showdown from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday night, so here’s the best Air Force Falcons vs. UNLV Rebels betting pick.

The Falcons shoot for their fifth consecutive victory over the Rebels. Air Force dismantled UNLV 48-14 as an 18-point home fave in 2021, and the Falcons are 10-point road favorites with a total of 50.0 points this time around.

The Air Force Falcons (4-2; 3-3 ATS; 1-2 conf.) have dominated their rivals on both sides of the ball for most of the season. They started with a pair of comfortable home victories against Northern Iowa 48-17 and Colorado 41-10. After a tough 17-14 defeat at Wyoming in Week 3, the Falcons have won two in a row over Nevada 48-20 and Navy 13-10 before losing at Utah State 34-27 in Week 6.

Air Force’s defense fell apart in the fourth quarter against the Aggies, allowing two straight touchdowns after Amari Terry gave the Falcons a 24-20 lead with a 40-yard catch. The Falcons gave up 414 total yards, and Utah State ran 38 times for 199 yards (5.2 per carry).

“Huge credit to Utah State, they did a good job once they got out in the open field,” Air Force head coach Troy Calhoun said. “We need to tackle better.”

Senior RB Brad Roberts led the way for Air Force in Week 6, racking up 136 yards and a touchdown on 29 carries. Haaziq Daniels went 5-of-12 for 95 yards, a touchdown, and an interception, and senior signal-caller also had ten carries for 34 yards and a TD. The Falcons average 58.2 rushing attempts (2nd in the country) while tallying 352.2 rushing yards per game (1st) and 6.1 per carry (5th).

On the other side of the ball, Air Force ranks 24th in the country in points allowed per game (18.0). The Falcons surrender just 162.2 passing yards (10th) and 139.2 rushing yards per contest (65th). Keep your eyes on senior linebacker Thadius Blackmon, who’s posted 34 tackles, 5.5 TFL, and a couple of sacks so far this season.
