South Carolina vs. Florida Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-12-2022

South Carolina will try to add another win to its successful campaign when it faces Florida on Saturday afternoon. The Gamecocks have won five of their last six games, including a 38-27 win over Vanderbilt last week. Florida has a chance to become bowl eligible following its win over Texas A&M.

South Carolina looked like it might have trouble competing this season when it got blown out by Georgia in Week 3. The Gamecocks have responded to that loss by winning five of their last six games, including upsets over then-No. 13 Kentucky and Texas A&M. They had their four-game winning streak snapped in a loss to Missouri as 3.5-point favorites before winning and covering the spread in a 38-27 final against Vanderbilt last week. South Carolina is now bowl eligible heading into games against Florida, No. 5 Tennessee and No. 10 Clemson. The Gamecocks put together one of their best offensive performances of the season against the Commodores, scoring more than 30 points for the first time in conference play.

Quarterback Spencer Rattler completed 18 of 26 passes for 200 yards and three touchdowns, with Antwane Wells Jr. finishing with four receptions for 110 yards. He had touchdown catches of 68 and 17 yards. Rattler has completed 64.5% of his passes for 1,837 yards, eight touchdowns and nine interceptions. Wells has 41 receptions for a team-high 574 yards and four scores. Leading running back MarShawn Lloyd was sidelined against Vanderbilt with a bruised thigh, but he could return on Saturday. He has 556 rushing yards and nine touchdowns this season, and head coach Shane Beamer said he is “optimistic” that Lloyd can play in this game.
