The San Jose State Spartans are on the road as they make the trip to face the San Diego State Aztecs Saturday night. San Jose State comes in off a 28-16 home victory over Colorado State in their most recent contest though they failed to cover the 23.5-point line last Saturday. San Diego State scratched out a 14-10 home win over UNLV in their most recent contest last Saturday though they failed to cover the five-point line in the game. In the all-time series between the programs, the Aztecs own a 19-6-1 advantage, including a 19-13 overtime road win in the most recent matchup on October 15, 2021. The Spartans did cover the line in that game as a nine-point underdog.

San Jose State won their second straight game as they took down Colorado State at home in their previous contest. The Spartans improved to 6-2 on the season and are 4-1 in the Mountain West, leaving them tied with Fresno State for the top spot in the West Division. Against Colorado State, San Jose State trailed 7-0 after the opening quarter and 10-7 at the half before taking control by outscoring the Rams 21-6 in the second half to earn the win. The Spartans were outgained 468-355 in total offense, gave up 23 first downs while picking up 20 and lost the time of possession by a 33:22 to 26:38 margin yet still prevailed. San Jose State did force a pair of turnovers while committing only one in the victory.

On the season, the Spartans are 27th in the nation in passing offense with 280.4 yards per game and 126th in rushing offense with an average of 89.3 yards per contest. San Jose State is 76th in the FBS in scoring offense with an average of 27.1 points per game while they are 10th in scoring defense by allowing an average of 16.4 points per contest. Chevan Cordeiro is 177 of 293 passing for 2,224 yards with 11 touchdowns and two interceptions on the year. He is second on the team with 182 rushing yards plus seven scores.
