Liberty vs. Connecticut (UCONN) Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-12-2022

The Liberty Flames (8-1, 5-4 ATS, 4-5 O/U) battle the Connecticut Huskies (5-5, 8-2 ATS, 3-7 O/U)  in an inter-conference clash on Saturday afternoon. The Flames earned a big road win against Arkansas last week. The Huskies were able to record a convincing home win against UMass in their previous action.

The #19 Liberty Flames are a stellar team that continues to dazzle. They have now won six consecutive games propelled by the stellar defense. The Flames' only defeat on the season was against a ranked Wake Forest team early in the season. Last week, Liberty registered a 21-19 road win against a good Arkansas squad in a clash that had the Flames as three-point dogs. Their best victories occurred against UAB and a 41-14 home win against BYU last month. The Flames have now covered the spread in back-to-back games.

Liberty has two good QBs. Kaidon Salter has not played in four consecutive games due to injury and is questionable. The freshman QB has accrued a total of 776 passing yards and a 6:5 TD to INT ratio on the season. Jonathan Bennett has been outstanding, recording at least 220 yards in three consecutive games, and has collected 1163 passing yards and an 11:8 TD to INT ratio.

Liberty has a productive running game led by Dae Dae Hunter. The sophomore RB has eclipsed 100 rushing yards three times this season and has posted 850 rushing yards on a remarkable average of 6.6 yards per carry. Shedro Louis is also solid, recording 390 yards. Demario Douglas continues to find open field. The sophomore WR has made a whopping 23 catches in his last three bouts and leads the squad with 760 receiving yards. The Liberty offense has surpassed 40 points in two out of their last four clashes.

The Flames' defense has been the deciding factor in many games this season. They limited BYU to only 14 points followed by 19 points on 428 total yards against a potent Arkansas offense last week. The unit has no flaws, standing 47th against the pass and 37th against the run. The Flames climbed another four spots to #19 in this week's AP Top 25. Liberty is averaging 30 points, landing them 59th. They are limiting opponents to only 21.2 points, tabbing them 28th in the country.
