La Salle at Villanova- 11/7/22 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The La Salle Explorers and Villanova Wildcats face off on Monday in a college basketball showdown at The Pavilion.

La Salle has struggled the last few years, but the hope is they are close to turning it around soon. Fran Dunphy was hired to take over the program and he has a ton of experience. Jhamir Brickus and Khalili Brantley entered the transfer portal this offseason, but they decided to come back to La Salle, and they both are going to play huge roles on this team. Last season Brickus averaged 8.9 points while shooting 45 percent from the field and 35.8 percent from behind the three-point line. Senior Josh Nickelberry is back and he averaged 11.2 points while shooting 40.8 percent from the field.

On the other side of this matchup is the Villanova Wildcats who went through a big change this offseason. Just a few weeks after the end of the season, Jay Wright decided to retire. Kyle Neptune was hired after spending one season at Fordham. This Villanova team is going to look a lot different this season but they are still a talented crew. Caleb Daniels and Brandon Slater are both back and are going to need to have big years. Daniels last season averaged 10.3 points while shooting 42.4 percent from the field and 37.3 percent from behind the three-point line. Freshman Cam Whitmore was brought in, and although young, he is going to need to grow up quickly and be a star for the squad.
