Morehead State at Indiana – 11/7/22 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Morehead State Eagles will play the Indiana Hoosiers in a non-conference game on Monday night at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Indiana.

The Morehead State Eagles were 23-11 (13-5) last season and finished third in the Ohio Valley Conference standings. Morehead State defeated Tennessee Tech and Belmont in the OVC Tournament, but lost to Murray State in the Title game by a score of 71-67. Morehead State lost four players that averaged 16.8, 10.4, 10.4, and 9.1 points per game last season. The Eagles bring in six transfers to try and replace the lost production, with four of them coming from other division one programs. Morehead State lost too many core players from last year and I expect them to have a down year this season.

The Indiana Hoosiers were 21-14 (9-11) last season and finished ninth in the Big Ten regular season standings. Indiana defeated Michigan and Illinois in the Big Ten Tournament, but lost in the semifinals to Iowa by a score of 80-77. Indiana barely got into the NCAA Tournament, but did defeat Wyoming before losing to Saint Mary’s by a score of 82-53. Indiana does not lose much from last year’s team and should have a good season. Indiana has very high expectations this season as they return most of their NCAA Tournament team from last season, but will they be able to carry over the momentum that they had at the end of last season?
