The Trojans head to Illinois as huge 17-point underdogs with a total of 131.0 points. They meet the Salukis for the second straight season, and the Trojans outlasted the Salukis 69-66 as 6-point home underdogs.
The Little Rock Trojans went 9-19 in 2021-22 and finished bottom of the Sun Belt Conference with a 3-11 record. They suffered a 69-62 defeat to the Troy Trojans in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt championship tournament after beating the South Alabama Jaguars 75-71 in the first round.
Little Rock moved to the Ohio Valley Conference in the summer, returning 66.3 percent of scoring from its last season’s roster. Nikola Maric (13.3 PPG, 6.1 RPG in 2021-22) went to Europe, while Marko Lukic (11.4 PPG, 3.4 RPG) transferred to Denver, so senior guard Isaiah Palermo, who averaged 10.8 points and 3.9 rebounds last regular season, will lead the way for the Trojans in 2022-23.

Jovan Stulic (7.8 PPG, 43.8 3P%) is another senior guard who’ll play big minutes this time around, while senior guards Myron Gardner (10.1 PPG, 6.1 RPG) and DeAntoni Gordon (10.4 PPG, 4.4 RPG) are finally healthy and ready to rumble after missing most of the previous season due to injuries.
The Trojans rank sixth in the Preseason Ohio Valley Conference poll. KenPom has Little Rock at No. 312 in adjusted offensive efficiency and No. 301 in adjusted defensive efficiency. Last season, the Trojans were tallying 96.9 points per 100 possessions (286th in the country) while surrendering 112.1 in a return (336th).
