Portland Trail Blazers vs. Phoenix Suns Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-5-2022

Portland Trail Blazers (5-2) vs. Phoenix Suns (6-1)

The 2022-23 NBA betting action goes on Saturday, November 5, with the Western Conference battle from Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, where the Portland Trail Blazers square off against the Phoenix Suns.

The Trail Blazers and Suns wrap up a back-to-back set in Arizona, and Friday night’s game has been excluded from the analysis. These two conference foes will also close down their three-game regular-season series, and Portland outlasted Phoenix 113-111 in overtime at Moda Center on October 21.

The Portland Trail Blazers fell to 5-2 SU on the season following a 111-106 home loss to the Memphis Grizzlies this past Wednesday. But they covered a 5.5-point spread, improving to 6-1 ATS. While Damian Lillard sat out his second straight game due to a calf injury, Anfernee Simons led the way for the Trail Blazers with 31 points and eight assists. Jusuf Nurkic posted a 23-point, 13-rebound double-double, and Jerami Grant added 23 points and five boards.

“When the going got really, really tough and it was a moment of truth, we stood up and did what we had to do,” Portland head coach Chauncey Billups said. “We just couldn’t get over the hump.”

The Trail Blazers were listed as 12.5-point underdogs for Friday’s battle against the Suns. Damian Lillard remained on the shelf, and Anfernee Simons was ruled out due to foot inflammation. Both Lillard and Simmons are questionable to play Saturday, and the Blazers’ backcourt might be pretty shorthanded. Keep your eyes on rookie Shaedon Sharpe (8.3 PPG, 2.9 RPG), who’ll play big minutes in Dame’s and Simmons’ absence.
