The New Orleans Pelicans invade the State Farm Arena to take on the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night.
The New Orleans Pelicans have been in fine form as they’ve won five of their first eight games and they will be eager to stay hot after taking down the Warriors in a 114-105 home win last night. Brandon Ingram led the team with 26 points and five assists, CJ McCollum added 20 points, eight rebounds and five assists, Larry Nance Jr. added 20 points on 10 of 12 shooting off the bench while Zion Williamson chipped in with 16 points on seven of 11 shooting. As a team, the Pelicans shot 50 percent from the field and 12 of 29 from the 3-point line as they poured in 35 points in the second quarter to slowly build their way to an 11-point lead which proved to be more than enough against a shorthanded Warriors team resting four of their starters.
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks have been in decent shape as they’ve won five of their first eight games and they will be eager to stay hot after taking down the Knicks in a 112-99 road win on Wednesday. Dejounte Murray led the way with 36 points, nine assists and five steals, De’Andre Hunter added 21 points while Trae Young chipped in with 17 points, six rebounds and seven assists. As a team, the Hawks shot 41 percent from the field and 12 of 34 from the 3-point line as they got off to a terrible start and trailed by as many as 23 points, but they kept their heads and responded with a 32-10 third quarter to erase the deficit and win comfortably in the end.
