Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-6-2022

Green Bay will try to get its season back on track when it travels to Detroit on Sunday afternoon. The Packers won three of their first four games, but they are now riding a four-game losing streak. Detroit is having a tough season as well, losing six of its first seven games.

Green Bay opened the season with a 23-7 loss to Minnesota before bouncing back with consecutive wins over Chicago, Tampa Bay and New England. It was not surprising to see the Packers get off to a strong start, as they have done so many times under quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Their four-game stretch since then has been surprising though, as they have lost all four of those contests to fall two games below .500 on the season. They blew a lead against the Giants in London to kickstart that stretch before losing to Buffalo on the road last week—they were able to cover the 11-point spread in the loss to the Bills, though.

The Packers have not suffered a five-game losing streak in 14 years. Rodgers has been playing through a thumb injury over the past few weeks after injuring it against the Giants in London. The reigning MVP was a limited practice participant on Wednesday after missing the previous three Wednesday practices to rest his thumb. He has completed 66.4% of his passes for 1,800 yards, 13 touchdowns and four interceptions this season. The Packers have not been able to fill the void left behind from the Davante Adams trade, though. They come into this game ranked No. 17 in the NFL offensively, averaging 339.9 yards per game. This should be a good opportunity to get the offense going, as they are facing a Detroit defense that is dead last in the NFL in yards allowed per game (421.3).
