South Carolina will travel and play Vanderbilt this Saturday from FirstBank Stadium on the SEC Network. South Carolina and Vanderbilt have crossed paths in every season since 1992, often serving as a get right spot for the Gamecocks, as they lead the all-time series 32-7, and they've won 13 meetings in a row.
South Carolina dropped to 5-3 after losing a battle of Columbia's to Missouri in Week 9. Just after capitalizing on the Williams-Bryce crowd versus Texas A&M, SC flopped and lost on their homecoming day, being outgained 367-203 along the way. South Carolina is scoring 30.3 points per game, passing for 225.1 yards per game (150th), and rushing for 127.3 ypg (197th). The SC defense is allowing 24.6 points per game.
Spencer Rattler’s struggles have hindered the program this season. The former OU quarterback has failed to toss a touchdown pass in four games this season, with his homecoming performance glaring last weekend. It’s Vanderbilt, so maybe things change here, but it appears Rattler is pretty much who is at this point, an average college quarterback. Rattler has passed for 1,637 yards with five touchdowns to nine interceptions on the year.
