FIU at North Texas – 11/5/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The FIU Panthers and North Texas Mean Green face off on Saturday in a college football showdown at Apogee Stadium. When these two teams faced off last year it was North Texas that secured the 49-7 victory.

FIU comes into this game with a 4-4 record overall and after a slow start to the season they have been playing better as of late. In the last game against Louisiana Tech, it took overtime, but they were able to secure the 42-34 victory. Quarterback Grayson James had a big game completing 31 of his 48 passes for 321 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions. The running game wasn’t having a lot of production. Florida International is averaging 21.1 points while their defense is giving up 33.8 points per game.

On the other side of this matchup is North Texas who sits with a 5-4 record overall and they are coming off quite the victory in the last game. North Texas put up 40 points against Western Kentucky, and that led to the 27-point victory. Austin Aune completed 19 of his 28 passes for 317 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions. North Texas is averaging 35.6 points while their defense is giving up 32.1 points per game. The defense has been an issue so usually, they have to win shootouts.
