Massachusetts at UCONN – 11/4/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The UMass Minutemen and UConn Huskies face off on Friday in a college football showdown at Rentschier Field. When these two teams faced off in 2021 it was UMass that secured the 27-13 victory.

UConn comes into this game with a 4-5 record overall and they are coming off a victory in their last game. UConn’s last game came against Boston College and the defense was elite in that game giving up only three points. Quarterback Zion Turner completed 11 of his 19 passes for 173 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions. Aaron Turner also caught four passes for 70 yards. UConn is averaging 17.6 points while their defense is giiving up 26.2 points per game. This offense still isn’t great, but bad teams aren’t running up the score on them like used to be the case.

On the other side of this matchup is UMass who comes into this game with a 1-7 record overall. In the last game against New Mexico State the offense only scored 13 points, and that led to the 10 point defeat. Brady Olson completed 15 of his 28 passes for 97 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. UMass is averaging 12.1 points while their defense is giving up 30.9 points per game. In this game, UMass needs to find a way to get the offense going or it’s going to be another long game for them.
