The Wolverines took on the Michigan State Spartans in their last outing, winning 29-7. The Scarlet Knights are coming off of a loss to the Minnesota Golden Gophers by the score of 31-0. J.J. McCarthy threw for 167 yards, with one touchdown and no interceptions on 15-of-25 passing (60.0%) for the Wolverines in that matchup against the Spartans. He also added seven carries for 50 yards. Luke Schoonmaker led the receiving charge against the Spartans, catching five passes for 70 yards. Gavin Wimsatt threw for 68 yards for the Scarlet Knights against the Golden Gophers, going 6-for-17 (35.3%) with no touchdowns and one interception. Kyle Monangai carried the ball seven times for 29 yards (4.1 yards per attempt). Sean Ryan caught four passes for 46 yards (11.5 yards per catch).

The Wolverines are favored (-26.5) in a projected blowout game against the Scarlet Knights. The total is set at 45.5 points.
