The New England Patriots and New York Jets face off on Sunday in an NFL showdown at MetLife Stadium. When these two teams faced off in October of 2021 it was the Patriots that secured the 54-13 victory.
The Patriots come into this game with a 3-4 record overall, and this is basically a must-win at this point of the season. In the last game against the Chicago Bears the defense was awful giving up 33 points, and the offense could only manage 14 points. Mac Jones was pulled against the Bears, but he is expected to the starter again i this game. The Patriots offense is averaging 22.1 points while their defense is giving up 20.9 points per game. In this game, the Patriots are going to need a big game from Jones.
On the other side of this matchup is the Jets who sit with a 5-2 record overall and they are coming off another win in the last game. The offense only scored 16 points, but the defense gave up nine points and that led to the seven-point victory. Zach Wilson completed 16 of his 26 passes for 121 yards, zero touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Breece Hall was having a strong rookie season, but is now out for the season. The Jets are averaging 22.7 points while their defense is giving up 19.6 points per game.
