Calvin Kattar and Arnold Allen face off on Saturday in a featherweight showdown for the main event of UFC Fight Night 213 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Calvin Kattar comes into this fight with a 23-6 record overall but he has lost two of his last three fights. In June of 2022 he faced off against Josh Emmett and he lost by a split decision. He outstruck Emmett 130-107 but still lost. Each of his last four fights have been by decision. Kattar is averaging 5.19 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 7.15 significant strikes per minute. He is averaging 0.44 takedowns every 15 minutes and is successful on 29 percent of his takedown attempts. He also stops 91 percent of his opponent's takedown attempts. Kattar is a good all-around fighter and people seem to forget how good of a striker he actually is on his feet.
On the other side of this matchup is Arnold Allen who sits with an 18-1 record overall and he has won nine straight fights since coming into the UFC. Allen faced off against Dan Hooker in his last fight and midway through the first round he finished the fight by knockout. The four previous wins were by unanimous decision. Allen is averaging 3.31 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 2.22 significant strikes per minute He is averaging 1.41 takedowns every 15 minutes and is successful on 50 percent of his takedown attempts. He also stops 76 percent of his takedown attempts. This is a big fight for Allen and with a win here he could be in title contention.
