A pair of Eastern Conference foes, one from the big city and one from a smaller market, collide on the hardwood in Cream City. The New York Knicks are on the road as they make the trip west to face the Milwaukee Bucks Friday night. New York managed to regroup to knock off Charlotte 134-131 in overtime at home Wednesday night, failing to cover the line as a 7.5-point favorite in the game. Milwaukee rallied in the second half to take care of Brooklyn, winning 110-99 and covering the three-point line in the process. In the all-time regular season series between the teams, the Bucks own a 119-105 advantage and have won nine of the last 12 meetings, including three straight. Milwaukee claimed a 123-108 home win in the most recent matchup back on January 28, 2022.

New York won their third straight game since falling in overtime at Memphis in their season opener as they managed to take down Charlotte in a wild contest at Madison Square Garden Wednesday night. The Knicks entered Thursday 3-1 on the season and stood tied with Boston for the top record in the Atlantic Division standings. Against Charlotte, New York led most of the way as they were up two after the opening quarter, seven at the half and by eight after three quarters. The Knicks wilted in the fourth, trailing by five with 2:22 to play before rallying to force overtime. In the extra session, New York took the lead for good at 125-124 on a Jalen Brunson three-pointer with 3:14 to play and went on to the victory. The Knicks shot 53.6% from the field, including 11 of 30 from three-point range, and overcame 16 turnovers to get the win. Brunson finished with 27 points, seven rebounds and 13 assists to pace New York in the contest.

For the year, the Knicks are 2nd in the league in scoring offense with 122.8 points per contest entering this game. New York is 2nd in the league in rebounding as they collect 50 rebounds per game while they are 10th in the league in assists by dishing out 26.8 dimes per contest. The Knicks are 18th in the league in scoring defense by allowing 113.5 points per contest. Julius Randle leads the team with 20.3 points, 8.8 rebounds and three assists per contest. Jalen Brunson (20 points, 4.5 rebounds, 8.5 assists), RJ Barrett (17.8 points, 6.3 rebounds), Evan Fournier (11 points) and Cam Reddish (10 points) each are solid secondary options as well. Quentin Grimes (foot) has not played yet this season though the team did exercise his third-year option on Wednesday. It’s unclear as to what his timetable for return is at this point in time.
