The Oregon Ducks had an ignominious start to their season and head coach Dan Lanning's first year at the helm with a 49-3 loss to Georgia. Since then, the Ducks offense has come alive and they look like a legitimate playoff team if things fall their way down the stretch. On Saturday, the Ducks rudely welcomed former head coach Chip Kelly back to Oregon for the first time with a dominating 45-30 win over UCLA.

“I had a pretty good feeling this was going to be an awesome day the moment I stepped on that quad,” Lanning said after the game. “That place was packed. Our fans brought it from 4 a.m. — or maybe 1 a.m. last night — all the way to the end of the game.”

Quarterback Bo Nix continued his stellar season in his first and only season in Oregon. He went 22-of-28 for 283 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions on the day. Wide receiver Tony Franklin had a big day as well with eight catches for 132 yards with two touchdowns. Running back Bucky Irving had 108 yards rushing on 19 carries with a touchdown as well. Oregon had 31 first downs with 545 yards of total offense in the win. Oregon went 6-of-12 on third down conversions and a perfect 4-of-4 on fourth down.

Oregon's defense allowed 448 yards of total offense, including 262 yards passing. The Ducks defense had one interception on the day and had three tackles for loss. Oregon didn't have any sacks on the afternoon and had just one quarterback hit against the Bruins.

The Ducks, as they often have been over the years, are led by their offense. They are ranked 13th in the country in scoring offense this season. The Ducks are 8th in rushing offense and 48th in passing offense. The Ducks offense has been excellent in the red zone, ranking 28th in touchdown efficiency. Oregon is 51st in the country in turnover differential this season. On the defensive side of the ball, Oregon is 92nd in the country in scoring defense. They are ranked 15th in rushing defense but are susceptible to the pass, ranking just 123rd in the country. Oregon's defense has not been strong in the red zone, 103rd in red zone touchdown efficiency.
