Wyoming vs. Hawaii Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-29-2022

The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (2-6) will host the Wyoming Cowboys (5-3) in the 11:59 EST game Saturday. This is a rivalry that dates back to 1978 with these teams playing for the Paniolo Trophy. Wyoming holds a 15-11 all-time edge in this rivalry, but last season Hawaii beat Wyoming 38-14 as a 13-point road dog.

Wyoming is in a position to potentially reach the Mountain West championship game this season. The Cowboys are currently 3-1 in the conference, one game behind Boise State in the Mountain Division, and they will host the Broncos later this season on November 19. Following a 38-24 road loss to BYU and their lone conference loss at home to San Jose State 33-16, the Cowboys are now on a two-game winning streak. Wyoming got its only road win this season against New Mexico 27-14 on October 8, and after a bye, beat Utah State at home 28-14 last week.

The Cowboys' strength is on defense where they are 55th allowing 366.9 total yards per game, and 59th allowing 24.8 ppg. Offensively, Wyoming is 114th in total offense and 121st in passing yards per game. The Cowboys' key to moving the ball is on the ground where they rank 53rd racking up 172.8 ppg, led by Titus Swen with 66r yards and seven touchdowns on the season. Quarterback Andrew Peasley is second on the team with 263 rushing yards. Peasley has completed just 53.3% of his passes this season and has thrown nine touchdowns against three interceptions.

Wyoming does have one of the best kickers in the country in John Hoyland. Hoyland is a perfect 18 for 18 on extra points and 17 for 19 on field goals. Hoyland is 6 for 8 on kicks of 40+ yards with a long of 55 yards.
