Charlotte Hornets vs. New York Knicks Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-26-2022

It's a good matchup between two Eastern Conference playoff hopefuls Wednesday as the New York Knicks host the Charlotte Hornets. Both teams are 2-1 on the young season. Charlotte took three out of four games from the Knicks last season. Can the Knicks score a win at home?

The Charlotte Hornets are 2-1 on the season, tied for the lead in the Southeast Division with Atlanta and Washington. The Hornets last played on Sunday, beating the Hawks in Atlanta by the score of 126-109 as a 9.5 point underdog. The Hornets shot a blistering 52% from the floor and shot 42% from three point range. They held the Hawks to a dreadful shooting night, shooting 41% from the floor and 23% from three point range.

The Hornets also dominated on the boards, out rebounding Atlanta 52-45. This was just an all around solid win over a good team on the road. Charlotte was without both of its point guards, LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier, but it didn't matter as Dennis Smith stepped in and scored 18 points, dished out 6 assists and had 3 steals. Kelly Oubre led the offense with 24 points and 10 rebounds while Nick Richards came off the bench and poured in 20 points with 10 rebounds. Gordon Hayward and PJ Washington added 12 points each. The Hornets are the third highest scoring team in the league.

Ball and Rozier remain out on Wednesday, while Cody Martin is questionable.
