The No. 24 NC State Wolf Pack (5-2) and the Virginia Tech Hokies (2-5) square off on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Wayne Day Family Field at Carter-Finley Stadium in a battle of ACC foes.
The Wolf Pack enter this matchup following a 24-9 loss to the Syracuse Orange in their last game. The Hokies’ last game was a 20-14 loss to the Miami Hurricanes. Against the Orange, Jack Chambers led the Pack with 160 yards on 18-of-30 passing (60.0%) for no touchdowns and no interceptions. He also carried the ball 19 times for 58 yards. Jordan Houston took 12 carries for 44 yards (3.7 yards per carry), while adding three receptions for 29 yards in the passing game. Keyon Lesane led the receiving charge against the Orange, catching four passes for 39 yards. Grant Wells went 21-for-33 with 179 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions for the Hokies against the Hurricanes. He also rushed 16 times for 35 yards and one touchdown. Malachi Thomas carried the ball 13 times for 41 yards (3.2 yards per attempt). In the passing game, he added six catches for 43 yards and one touchdown. Da’Wain Lofton collected three catches for 40 yards (on four targets).
The Wolf Pack are the favorite by double-digits (13.5 points) over the Hokies. The total is set at 40 points.
