San Jose Sharks (1-5-0) vs. Philadelphia Flyers (3-1-0)
The San Jose Sharks continue their four-game road trip on the east coast Sunday, October 23, 2022, when they take on the Philadelphia Flyers in the cross-conference showdown at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
San Jose swept Philadelphia in 2021-22 and aims for its third consecutive victory over the Flyers. The visitors opened as slight moneyline underdogs with a total of 5.5 goals, so let’s take a closer look.
At the time of writing, the San Jose Sharks played the New Jersey Devils as huge +180 road underdogs. The Sharks were searching for their second consecutive win, as they outlasted the New York Rangers 3-2 in overtime this past Thursday. Playing as huge +240 underdogs, the Sharks stunned the reigning Eastern Conference vice-champions to stop a five-game losing streak and finally tally one in the win column this season.
“It just felt good,” San Jose coach David Quinn said. “I thought our guys did a great job. … We had been a fragile group, but we showed some mental toughness tonight. We showed some perseverance and resolve and you’re gonna need all those things moving forward here.”
